Edit the title of your documents

Overview
  • Edit the title of your PDF invoices, customer credit notes, quotes, customer statements, and purchase orders. 

How it works

  • Change how a title is displayed on documents sent to your customers. Eg change the default title for approved invoices from 'Tax Invoice' to 'Customer Invoice'. You can edit titles for invoices, customer credit notes, quotes, customer statements, and purchase orders.

  • If you use a standard invoice template, you can also edit the title for remittance advice and receipts.

  • For advanced invoice templates, the Invoice title fields set in Invoice Settings populates the «InvoiceTitle» field on the template. To add an invoice title directly on your template, delete the field and insert the title as static text.

Edit the title on an invoice template

  1. Click the organization name, select Settings, then click Invoice settings.

  2. Find the invoice template you want to update.

  3. Click Options, then select Edit.

  4. Update the title for the transaction type you want to change. Each title can have up to 20 characters and can be uppercase or lowercase.

  5. Click Save.
