Overview
- If you send online invoices, credit notes or prepayments, customers can also view their outstanding bills unless you remove links to them.
About the link to view outstanding bills online
Including the link
When the link is included with sales transactions, customers can log in to Xero and:
- View a link to outstanding bills from within their online invoices, credit notes or prepayments
- Access the total amount they owe you
The total amount the customer owes includes all sales transactions, including prepayments and overpayments that are awaiting payment. This also includes transactions you might not have sent.
This applies both to customers you've already sent invoices, credit notes and prepayments to, and those you're going to send them to.
Effect of removing the link
Customers won't be able to:
- View a link to outstanding bills from within their online invoices, credit notes or prepayments
- Access the total amount of how much they owe you
Include or remove the link
- Click the organisation name, select Settings,
- Click Invoice settings.
- Click Default Settings
- Under Show Outstanding Bills, select or clear the checkbox for including the link.
- Click Save.
